How to update data in closed Excel workbooks using VB?

Using VB, I want to create a subroutine that updates the value of cell ';a1'; on a closed workbook, without opening it.



- Please if you do not know how to do this, do not tell me its not possible. If you do know, please explain it as simple as possible.



- I do not want to link the closed file to the file were I am creating the updating subroutine. (ie both files independent)
